The condition you encountered is common with big, tannic wines.  If a wine is big enough to age properly, you can&#039;t avoid the sediment that is inherent in making it.  Two things that you should do when opening a decent bottle of red wine are: 1) decant; 2) filter.  In most cases this should be done a few hours prior to enjoying it, as the wine needs time to breathe.  Wine aerators can&#039;t do a good wine justice.  If you have not yet found the secrets to enjoying your better wines, I hope this helps.</description>
