Here’s a wine with a huge fruit nose of blackberry and ripe cherry. The color is deep purple – inky black hue. First sip is like a fruit explosion yet has a nice mouth coating effect. Lots of fruit showing through, blueberries, blackberries and cherries with some hints of vanilla. A very well balanced wine with a long finish of slight tannins which are softened by the fruit. Would be terrific paired with meat on the grill.

Fruit Bomb Denner Syrah

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007This full-bodied Zinfandel is consistantly good at a very desirable price. I was looking for a full-bodied red to have with a spicy thai fish curry that wouldn’t be overbearing and this fit the bill.

Londer Pinot Noir
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007So far this week I’ve had an ’05 Londer Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley. The nose was a fruity and bubblegum-like and the taste was very light and fruity (14.3% Alc) - not what you’d expect from a Pinot, but a very approachable wine nonetheless. Very drinkable now, but if you’re expecting a varietal-correct Pinot Noir, this isn’t it.
Fiddlehead ‘03 Lollapalooza
Wednesday, May 16th, 2007The last of the Fiddlehead ’03 Lollapalooza Pinot Noir has been depleted and the ’04 just released. This fabulous tasting Pinot is going to be difficult to find so get them while there’s still some to be found.
