T-Vine Grenache

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Opened a bottle of the newest release of T-Vine’s Grenache – 2005 vintage last night with dinner.  A nice style Grenache not lacking in flavors – actually quite bold, but not over the top.  The flavors of fruit with were up-front with light tannins on the mid-palate balanced with slight acidity leads to a long and delightful finish.  Drank with homemade butternut squash soup spiced with anise.  Flavors complimented eachother.

T-Vine Grenache is Here!

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

The small production vineyard in Napa has just released their 2005 Grenache; red ruby in color and a candy bowl of red fruits on the palate with a medium-to-long finish.  Grenache is one of those Rhone varieties that’s growing in popularity here in California – usually used in blends, many wineries are now bottling 100% grenache with superb results!

2005 Fisher Unity Cab

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Last night we had Donna over and decided to open the Fisher Cab.  (90% Cab, 6%Malbec, 4% Cab Franc).  This is a really smooth cab, but has lots of body and flavor.  Big hints of chocolate.  Not very earthy.  The flavors blend nicely from start to finish.  I really liked this wine.
